How Stanton andrews approach it
How we work with private clients
A new home is a long commitment — to a place, a layout, a set of decisions that compound over time. We give the early stages the attention they deserve, so that there no late surprises, no regrets about missed opportunities and no disappointment with it once complete. Changes at these later stage cost money, often at a time when the budget is under the most pressure.

Questions we are often asked
We can help you tender the project, appoint a contractor and administer the works on site, including regular inspections, valuations and quality reviews until completion.
Every project begins with an extensive conversation about your lifestyle, how you move through spaces, the light, and your future ambitions before sketching a single line. This deep exploration forms a cohesive design brief tailored strictly around you.
We look for a balance of fabric-first performance, efficient services and materials that sit comfortably with the existing building and landscape. Traditional construction is used where it is the right response, alongside contemporary systems where they improve comfort and running costs.
Timescales vary with the size and complexity of the project, but most substantial residential works spend several months in design, planning and technical stages before a contractor is on site. We will set out a realistic programme at the outset and keep it updated as the work develops.
The first presentation typically includes a developed brief, concept drawings and material direction so you can respond to the character of the scheme before we commit to a planning-ready design.
A site visit is an essential part of understanding the property, its orientation, neighbours and constraints. We prefer to walk the building with you before any design work begins.

Every project starts with understanding how you want to live and what is possible on the site. Our early design stage explores three distinct design concepts before any one of them is developed further.
